The entire trade fair centre is booked up with 1000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, as you can imagine we’ve only been here a couple of days and we’ve learnt so much already…

This year there is a lot of talks around home automation and how to make your home smarter and more energy efficient, which will be perfect for us as those winter months are starting to creep in. There are lots of techy updates around connectivity via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Zigbee so watch this space, as we’ll talk more around that later.

As promised the new fabrics are on show and they are all beautiful and tactile, based on natural landscapes, each fabric tells a story and gives you a sense of tranquillity and serenity. There is a big global push for recycling and being environmentally friendly at the moment and that was also evident here in Stuttgart with recycled fabric and fabric made from ocean waste. Hunter Douglas won three prizes in the R+T Innovation 2018 Prizes for their GreenScreen Sea Tex, which is a solar control fabric made from 50% recycled plastic waste from the world's oceans. And just because the fabric is eco friendly doesn’t mean they compromise on beauty or style, fabric that looks good and makes you feel good!

The stand presentations & collateral here is at an exceptionally high standard and with a couple more days left we are keen to see what else we can learn.
